The following steps take you through several scenarios in creating maps with MSA Map.

When creating a new map, you may specify:

A specific street address, such as 8222 Douglas Avenue
An intersection, such as Preston and Walnut Hill
A city or ZIP Code, such as Ft. Worth or 75206

You may also display up to four different types of real estate:

Apartments
Office
Industrial
Retail

In addition, you can include:

Demographic data
Environmental data
Traffic counts

Displaying Your Map

After you specify the basic information you want displayed on your map, MSA Map

creates a custom map just for you!

This map shows you the area around 8222 Douglas Avenue, and the office and retail sites requested.

Viewing Real Estate Properties

You may create maps and show one property type, or all four. Office properties appear as yellow circles, retail properties are green triangles, apartments are red squares, and industrial properties are blue squares.

MSA Map also lets you display only those properties that fit specific criteria. For example, you could request a map that showed only class A office buildings that have more than 100,000 available square feet.

Using the Identify tool, you then may receive specific information about individual properties simply by clicking on one of the symbols.

Adding Custom Labels

You may also customize your maps by adding labels to point out specific locations. MSA Map

provides over 70 symbols to add to your map.

Demographic Maps

MSA Map

provides demographic information including population, medium household buying income, total households, and population by age. This information is displayed as a color-filled map by block group.

Environmental Maps

Environmental data is available to help you evaluate the environmental condition of the area of interest. Flood plains and flood plain buffers are included, as well as toxic waste and hazardous waste sites.

Traffic Counts

You may also add available traffic volumes to your map. Traffic data is displayed as a small red square representing the Annual Average Daily Traffic Volume (AADTV) for the location.
